Please consider joining us with a
membership to support of Falmouth's
great Shining Sea Bikeway! We are
very proud of this multi-use trail. It is
always open, always safe and family
friendly where you can teach your
family about salt marshes and
cranberry bogs as well as how to ride
a bike. It is a wonderful place to
learn the safe way to bike. It is a
place to be courteous to the other
users.
Since June of 2009 when this organization was incorporated, some of the projects we have supported have been better signage, additional trash barrels, graffiti removal, daily litter removal, additional granite mile markers for safety on the older section of the bikeway and a significant public art project on the Palmer Avenue underpass (Falmouth). Anticipated projects for 2010 include a new public art project at the Curley Blvd underpass (North Falmouth) and a pavilion at the Depot Avenue (Falmouth) intersection which will be dedicated to a long time Falmouth biker, Bud Miskell. Bud,88, died in June 2009 just after he finished a ride the length of the bikeway!
